Morgan Hill Community Theatre

Seizing a unique opportunity to save one of the town’s historic buildings, this 1920s church was moved, rotated, and expanded to a 172-seat playhouse for the local arts organizations while maintaining its historic character.  Rose provided programming, early design, and project management through completion.

Thomas Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival

A sophisticated and flexible theatre for this prestigious professional theatre organization.  Both theatre configuration and stage production can be changed over from afternoon to evening performance using lifts, seating wagons, and a flying soffit.  Rose was part of an intensive programming phase to plan and describe every space, function, adjacency, and system.

Purple Masque Theatre, Kansas State University

When KSU decided to replace an aging student performance space crammed under the seating of a WWI memorial stadium, the location for the new incarnation turned out to be…under the other side of the stadium.  Rose, her colleagues, and the design team developed an intimate facility which found uses for every odd space and space for every necessary function.

Glenn Massey Theatre, Mat-Su College, Palmer, Alaska

The Glenn Massey Theatre is not only a well-designed and equipped touring theatre, it’s the campus’ and town’s premiere gathering place.  Electronically-enhanced variable acoustics allow it to host a wide range of performances with ease.  Rose provided programming and layout of seating, sightlines, and backstage spaces.

Mammoth Lakes Cultural Center, Mammoth Lakes, CA

Planning and conceptual design for a small but sophisticated theatre to meet the needs of the professional music organizations, semi-professional theatre company and up-and-coming film festival which regularly perform in Mammoth Lakes.  Rose worked with the Mammoth Lakes Foundation, AMS Planning and Research and Woodward Architecture to develop the program and create the building concept.
